Description

Valspar Pro-Hide Gold Ultra Exterior is a professional-grade, self-priming 100% acrylic paint engineered for superior fade resistance and extended-season application on exterior house surfaces. Formulated with advanced adhesion technology, it delivers durable, long-lasting protection while its low-temperature application capability down to 35°F expands the workable paint season beyond traditional constraints. The paint provides a mold- and mildew-resistant finish that maintains color integrity in harsh outdoor conditions. Ideal for wood siding, trim, doors, fences, wall surfaces, and other exterior substrates, this easy-cleanup formula combines professional-level performance with efficient workflow management. Available in 5-gallon clear base format with satin sheen for custom color tinting and large-scale projects.

Features

  • Self-priming 100% acrylic formula eliminates separate primer application and simplifies project workflow
  • Fade-resistant technology maintains color vibrancy and appearance in direct sunlight and weathering
  • Low-temperature application down to 35°F extends painting season into cooler months
  • Durable adhesion and coverage ensure long-lasting protection on wood siding, trim, wall surfaces, and fences
  • Mold- and mildew-resistant finish prevents biological growth in humid conditions
  • Easy soap-and-water cleanup streamlines tool maintenance and reduces project time
  • 5-gallon clear base with satin sheen optimized for large-scale house exterior projects and custom tinting

Specifications

  • Surface Prep: Remove surface contaminants with an appropriate cleaner, rinse thoroughly and allow to dry. Remove peeled or damaged paint. Sand glossy surfaces dull. Seal stains with the appropriate primer. Caulk around windows, doors and other openings after spot priming bare surfaces. Knots and some woods, such as redwood and cedar, contain a high amount of tannin, a colored wood extract. If applied to these unpainted woods, the first coat of paint may show some staining, but it will be trapped in the first coat. A second coat will uniform the appearance. If staining persists, spot prime severe areas with a stain-blocking primer.
