Learn what to ask your tire shop service center team.
Whether it’s a problem with your tires or other automotive issues, we understand you want to have a safe and efficient ride. That’s why our automotive service centers are more than just a tire shop. Our auto techs are there to answer your questions and come up with a solution for all your car care problems. Below we list some common questions to ask your service center team.
1. What tire services do you offer?
At Blain’s Farm & Fleet, we offer tire services at a genuine value. With tire rotation, passenger and light truck tire mounting, tire repair and more, we’re your one-stop tire shop. Not only do we service your tires, you can actually buy tires straight from us. With top brands like Goodyear, Michelin and Cooper Tire, you can have a safe and smooth ride. Plus, you can ask about any promotions on discount tires or ongoing tire sales.
Tire rotation is an important part of tire maintenance. It helps with uniform tread wear, making your tires last longer and ultimately saving you money. Knowing when to get your tires rotated is also important. You’ll most likely find a rotation schedule in your owner’s manual. If you can’t find it, a good rule of thumb is to have your tires rotated with each oil change.
When you’re replacing your old tires, you might ask about tire mounting. Tires are mounted onto the rims of your vehicle. It’s just one part of tire installation. At Blain’s Farm & Fleet, tires are mounted to manufacturer’s specifications so you have the smoothest and safest ride.
Tire installation is a big part of tire change service. When you go to get your new tires installed, you should know how the process works. At Blain’s Farm & Fleet, we take care to clean your wheels, replace old wheel weights, polish the rims and more. Plus, we even recycle your old tires, where they’re re-purposed for roadways, playground crumb rubber and other green uses.
This is one of the most important questions you can ask. You can easily find your tire size on your driver’s side doorjamb or your owner’s manual. If you’re unsure of your tire size, you can use our tire lookup feature to search by vehicle brand, year and model. We’ll tell you your tire size and show you tires that will fit your vehicle. Of course, you can also have one of our tire shop associates help you find the right size tire, too.
6. How long is my tread warranty?
If you’re putting new tires on your vehicle, you’ll want to know about the tread warranty. It lets you know how long the tread will last until the tires can’t be safely driven on. The less you pay, the quicker the tires wear out. You’ll find the longest warranties last for 100,000 miles or six years.
Also keep in mind that in order for your tread warranty to stay valid, you need to keep your tires aligned and balanced. Regular tire balancing and wheel alignments are crucial for uniform tread wear and your tread warranty.
7. How often should I check my tire pressure?
Another important part of keeping your tires in the best shape is regularly checking your tire pressure. You can check your tire pressure with a simple tire pressure gauge. You should check your tire pressure every month, especially if you’re going on a long trip or you’ll be carrying a heavier-than-normal load.
These are the basic questions to ask your tire shop service center team when you’re dealing with tires. There are plenty of other questions you can ask if you’re having other issues with your vehicle. At your local Blain’s Farm & Fleet, your auto service center team is there to help you.
