A good cowboy or cowgirl costume is always a classic option for any Halloween-themed party. This is a timeless costume that’s surprisingly easy to put together.
Start with a foundation of a button-down denim or plaid shirt and jeans. Tuck your shirt in, and add a belt with a big buckle, if you’d like. Then, pull on your cowboy boots and tie the bandana around your neck.
If you want to elevate the costume, you can add a vest or leather jacket and carry a lasso. Finish with your cowboy hat.
This rugged costume is a great last-minute option. It works especially well if you already have a beard.
Start with the flannel shirt and jeans or work pants. Roll up your sleeves, and tuck your pants into a pair of work boots. For a more polished lumberjack look, add suspenders. Finish the look with with a knit beanie or trapper hat.
With a hard hat and some safety gear, a construction worker costume is instantly recognizable, easy to pull off, and a great idea for a group costume.
Put on your jeans or work pants first, followed by any basic t-shirt or long-sleeve shirt. Then, slip on your high-visibility safety vest and some work boots. Strap on your tool belt and load it with a few basic tools like a hammer, screwdriver, or tape measure. Then, put on your hard hat (you should be able to tighten it using the inner suspension system).
Optionally, you can finish the whole look off with some safety glasses and work gloves.
This charming Halloween costume allows you to get creative while staying comfortable all night long.
Pair your flannel shirt with a pair of jeans or overalls. Tuck your pants into a pair of boots. Then, stuff small amounts of straw into your sleeves, pants legs, and around your collar.
Use face paint or makeup to draw “stitches” and “patches” on your cheeks, nose, and around your mouth. Pop on a straw hat to finish everything off.
If you’d like, you can also tie a rope around your waist as a makeshift belt for an extra rustic touch.
Camo gear is a Halloween go-to. And wearing hunting clothes for your costume can be a great choice if it’s going to be cold outside.
Start by layering your camouflage clothes. You don’t need head-to-toe camo, but having at least two pieces will help create a cohesive look. Then, add orange safety gear on top.
If you’d like, add a few streaks of camouflage face paint across your cheeks and forehead. Finish by hanging a pair of binoculars around your neck and lacing up your hunting boots.
If you’re looking for a more unique Halloween costume idea, a beekeeper is an excellent choice!
Pull on your beekeeper suit or jacket. If you don’t have either of these items, you could also go with all-white clothing. Then, add the most important part—the beekeeping veil. Finally, throw on some protective gloves.
We recommend carrying around a honey bear container as a prop to add a little extra flair.
A DIY mechanic costume is great because it’s comfortable, recognizable, and simple to create.
This costume is super simple. Just slip into a pair of coveralls and some work boots, and you’re basically done!
If you want to personalize it a little more, add a name patch to your chest and use washable paint or markers to create “oil” stains on the front, sleeves, and knees of your coveralls. An old baseball cap is another great choice. For a prop, we recommend carrying a wrench, tool box, or rag around.
With just a few simple pieces, you can create an authentic-looking farmer costume.
For a classic farmer look, pair a plaid shirt with overalls. Roll up your sleeves and leave one overall strap unfastened for a more casual feel. Finish everything off with a pair of work boots and a straw hat.
If you’d like, you can wear a bandana around your neck. We also recommend using a prop or two. You can carry small farm tools like hand cultivators, or put some seed packets in your overall pockets.
A classic doctor or nurse costume is always a hit, and you can easily pull it together.
Start by putting on your pair of scrubs. Add some comfortable shoes, like sneakers, and rubber gloves. If you want to make your costume even more realistic looking, add a face mask. For props, we suggest carrying around a first aid kit or hanging medical tape or bandages out of your pocket.
If you want to stand out from the typical Halloween costumes, consider dressing as an angler.
The main things you’ll need are a fishing vest or shirt and waders. If you don’t want to walk around in waders, some cargo pants or shorts will work too. If you’d like, you can wear a life jacket.
Top everything off with a fishing hat or bucket hat. We recommend attaching some colorful lures to it. For a prop, go with a tackle box or fishing rod.
