Don’t settle for cheap SUV tires; find quality tires at Blain’s Farm & Fleet.

Before you head to your local tire shop and start looking at the tires for sale there, you need to know what to look for in quality SUV tires. You also need to consider the roads on which you’ll be driving, how frequently you’ll be driving, and what you’ll be using your SUV for. If you’re looking for cheap SUV tires, it’s important to also look for quality and durability. With cheap SUV tires, you get what you pay for. Remember, you have a lot riding on your tires.

Load Range

When you’re checking out SUV tires for sale, you need to think about the heaviest load you’ll possibly carry in your vehicle. You can find your load range on your vehicle’s doorjamb or the sidewall of the tires. Keep in mind that sometimes used vehicles are fitted with the wrong size tires out of cheapness or convenience. If you have a used vehicle, it’s best to get the tire information from your owner’s manual or doorjamb.

Make sure the load range is the heaviest load possible, not the average load. You never know if you’ll need to carry more than the average load in your SUV. If you are going to tow a trailer, look into getting a set of SUV tires rated for “Extra Load” or light truck use.

Tire Features

Look for SUV tires with a good treadwear warranty. The longest SUV tire warranties typically cover 70,000 miles or six years. The tread design is also something to keep in mind. If you’re doing a lot of interstate driving, you’ll want tires that are quiet and provide a smooth ride. All-season tires are meant for driving on pavement. All-terrain tires can be used on pavement, but are also great if you’re doing some off-road driving. If you’ll be off-roading, you need tires with good grip. You can easily measure your own tire tread depth.

Gas Mileage

If gas mileage is your main concern, look for tires with low rolling resistance. It cuts down the traction, but you’ll get more miles per gallon. If you need help finding tires with these features, you can always ask your local tire shop for assistance. Cheap SUV tires don’t usually have all of these features. You’ll have to decide which ones are important, then choose a tire that fits you best.

Tire Size

You can find your tire size on the tire’s sidewall, the doorjamb of your vehicle, or your owner’s manual. It’s recommended you replace your old tires with new tires that are the same size. You’ll also want all four tires to be the same size.
