The classic green bean casserole is a staple at almost any table throughout the holidays. It makes the perfect side dish to your turkey or ham dinner. Plus, it’s easy to throw together.
This holiday season, try this simple green bean casserole recipe from Blain’s Farm & Fleet. And if you want to add your own touch to it this year, follow one of our tasty suggestions below.
1. Stir together the soup, milk, soy sauce, black pepper, green beans, and 2/3 cup crispy fried onions in a 1 1/2-quart casserole dish or baking dish.
2. Bake at 350° F for 25 to 30 minutes or until the green bean mixture is hot and bubbling. Stir the bean mixture.
3. Sprinkle with the remaining crispy onions and sliced almonds to top the casserole.
4. Bake for 5 minutes or until the onions are golden brown.
You can always add spices and other ingredients if you want to personalize the flavor. We have a few suggestions to help you get started.
Stir in 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese with the soup, and omit the soy sauce. Sprinkle with an additional 1/4 cup of cheddar cheese when adding the remaining crispy onions to the top.
Stir in 1/4 cup of chopped red pepper with the soup.
