Chocolate bark is an easy, tasty, and affordable treat you can prepare for the holidays. And it’s very customizable. Use whatever type of chocolate and toppings your heart desires!
With the help of Blain’s Farm & Fleet, you can make this simple, yet delicious holiday treat that will have everyone’s taste buds tingling this Christmas! Plus, it makes a great holiday gift, too.
Now that you have an idea of what you’ll need, follow our steps to create your own Christmas chocolate bark using ingredients found at your local Blain’s Farm & Fleet!
1. Line your half-sheet baking pan with parchment paper.
2. If you prefer to melt your chocolate in the microwave, place it in a microwave-safe bowl, and heat on 50% power in 30-second intervals. Be sure to stir the chocolate after each 30-second interval. Skip steps 3 and 4 if this is the method you prefer.
3. If you decided not to use the microwave, melt your chocolate by using a double boiler on your stovetop. Another option is to improvise by using a saucepan and bowl. Make sure you have simmering water.
4. Stir your chocolate occasionally with a spatula, until it reaches a temperature of 110° F.
5. Spread the melted chocolate on the parchment paper and half-sheet baking sheet. Use your spatula to spread the chocolate out evenly.
6. Top the melted chocolate with your desired toppings. Don’t be afraid to create more than one different topping combinations per pan. This recipe is super easy to customize. Refer to the five recipes below for topping combinations!
7. Let your bark cool to room temperature before you break it into pieces. We recommend letting the bark cool for two to four hours, or place the pan in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.
8. Now is the best part. It’s time to enjoy your chocolate bark! If you happen to have some leftover after your holiday party (which is very rare), you can store it in a loosely-sealed container. Keep in mind that a lid does come with the half-sheet baking pan, so you can simply use this lid to cover it.
