One of the best parts? You can preserve your hard-earned summer crop with canning. If you’re not a gardener, but enjoy fresh produce, you’re in luck, too. Whether you’re stuck in a recipe rut, or don’t even know where to start, we’re here to help. Blain’s Farm & Fleet has compiled some great summer canning recipes so you can enjoy your summer produce all year round.
1. Spicy Pickled Carrots & Asparagus
If you’re looking for a side dish with a kick, look no further than this recipe from Feeding Andy. Serve them with salmon or eat them straight out of the jar. It’s an easy recipe if you’re just entering the world of canning.
2. Watermelon, Cucumber, Jalapeno Pickles
You may have to venture to a farmer’s market for the recipe from Triathlete. Once you have all the ingredients, it will be worth it. Combining watermelon rinds with jalapeno adds great flavor to the pickles.
This recipe from Saveur may seem odd, but we promise that you’ll love it. Serve the tart fruit with brie cheese for a powerful flavor combination.
The recipe from Rurification combines juicy peaches with homemade maple syrup for a tasty spread. Choose from either a light maple syrup or dark maple syrup to make the perfect summer recipe.
