Blain’s Farm & Fleet is excited to announce that our 2026 Chick Days are finally here! Starting December 26th, 2025, you can place your chick orders online. We will have over 140 varieties of birds available, including chickens, bantams, geese, ducks, turkeys, game birds, and more.
Are you looking for a new, rewarding hobby that allows you to reap the benefits of your hard work? Or have you raised backyard chickens in the past, and are simply looking to order more chicks? Either way, we have you covered!
During Chick Days, we provide our neighbors with the knowledge, supplies, and poultry you need to raise a happy and healthy flock!
Order and Pickup Dates
Refer to the chart below to see when your chick order will be arriving. You can pick up live chick orders in all of our stores, except for Oak Creek (due to local regulations).
- Chickens will be available for online ordering starting on 12/26/25.
- Ducks will be available for online ordering starting on 12/26/25.
- Turkeys will be available for online ordering starting on 02/12/26.
- Guineas will be available for online ordering starting on 04/02/26.

Store-Stock Chicks
We will also have store-stock chicks available, which will arrive in stores on February 27th. Stores will have select breeds replenished on a weekly basis through June 5th. Store-stock breeds are subject to availability. Breeds stocked will vary by location.

What is the best time to buy chickens?
The best time to buy chickens is in early spring through late spring, when conditions are ideal for young chicks to thrive. This timing also aligns with our Chick Days events, making it easier to find a wide selection of breeds and get the support you need to raise them. Refer to the chart above to see when your chicks will arrive.
How long does a chick stay a chick?
Chicks are considered “chicks” for about the first six weeks after hatching. During this time, they need constant warmth, proper nutrition, and clean water. Around week six, they begin transitioning into juvenile birds and can slowly adjust to outdoor conditions.
