There is nothing worse than struggling with your equipment while in the middle of grooming. Equipment malfunctions can lead to serious headaches that affects the outcome of your grooming session. Learn how to use the Wahl 5-in-1 Blade and Detachable Blades so that the next time you groom your pets or livestock you are prepared.

How to Use a Wahl 5-in-1 Blade

Description:

The signature 5-in-1 blade features five blade settings for quick and convenient grooming: #9, #10, #15, #30, #40. The blade is compatible with Wahls Arco, Bravura, Chromado, Creativa, Figura, and Motion Clippers.

Each blade number indicates a different length of cut. The lower the number the longer the cut and the higher the number the closer the cut is to your skin. For reference, a #10 Blade will leave approximately 2 mm of coat and a #3 Blade will leave 13 mm of coat.

Attaching 5-in-1 Blade from Clipper

Hook the small plastic tab from the bottom of your clipper blade into the clipper and gently snap it into place.

Removing a 5-in-1 Blade from Clipper

The first step is to set your blade to the #40 which is the shortest cut length. Then, place the blade against the palm of one of your hands and use the thumb from your other hand to pop the blade off by pushing it away from the clipper.

Use Guide Combs with 5-in-1 Blade

Simply slide the guide comb over the top of the blade. Be sure that your guide comb is secure and covering the entire blade before use. To remove your guide comb, use both of your thumbs and gently push the base of the comb until it detaches from the top of the blade.

How to Use a Wahl Detachable Blade

Description:

The detachable blades come in a variety of sizes ranging from a #3F to a super surgical #50. It also includes an extra wide #10 for quick shaves and X-Block and X-Blend blades for cattle fitting. These blades are compatible with Wahl KM Cordless, KM10, KM5, KM2, Deluxe, Power Grip, SS-Pro, Stable Pro Plus, and X-Block Clippers.

Attaching a Detachable Blade to Clipper

Grab a new blade and slide it into place on the blade lever attached to the clipper. Then turn your clipper on and snap the blade into place. Turning the clipper on before snapping it into place allows the blade to properly align with the drive finger on the clipper. If your blade is really loud and rattling after attached then you didn’t align it properly and need to repeat the steps above.

Removing a Detachable Blade from Clipper

Turn to the back side of your clipper and you will notice a blade release button. Simply push this in and carefully pull the blade away from your clipper.

Attaching a Guide Comb to Detachable Blade

Attach the comb to the bottom of the blade and gently pull it up and over the top of the blade teeth. Then the comb teeth will hook around the top of the blade.

Removing a Guide Comb from Detachable Blade

Lift the comb over the blade teeth to unhook it so that the comb easily detaches from the blade.
