The Cape Buffalo, also called African buffalo or steppe buffalo, is native to the eastern and southern steppes of Africa. The Cape Buffalo’s favorite habitat is the open savanna and forested riverine areas of the lowlands and highlands. Of all the three buffalo species, the Cape Buffalo is the largest.
