Giant Red Beefsteak is the same heirloom variety flavor everyone loves, except there is more to love! Averaging 1 to 3 pounds in weight, Giant Red is tasty sliced for sandwiches or relish trays. Requires a cage or support since the fruits are large and thickly fleshed.

  • Use a sterile seed-starting mix when starting indoors. As soon as the seeds begin germinating and stems start to show above the soil, it's important to provide a strong light such as a florescent bulb or a very sunny window. After transplanting, the plants will need 1-2" of water per week. Mulch around the plants to minimize weeds and conserve moisture.
