Livingston Seed TOMATILLO

Photo of TOMATILLO

Description

Grow your own "south of the border" taste. Tomatillo is grown like a tomato but has a tart flavor, not like a tomato. It is usually used when still green and about the size of a large cherry tomato. The inside is white and meatier than a tomato. They are used in salsa, jams, and other Mexican recipes. Garden Tip: Tomatillos grow inside of a thin paper-like husk. They are ripe when the husk turns brown and breaks open. Remove the husk, and rinse off the fruit. Store in a cool, dry place until you are ready to use.
