Description

Leeks are an easy-to-grow sweeter and milder alternative to the onion. Similar in appearance to large scallions, Leeks produce delicately tasting green-blue leaves that can be harvested at any stage. Often used raw in salads, they are even more commonly used in soups and sautés. Not fussy about transplanting or soil fertility, and rarely targeted by pests. At harvest, avoid damaging edible portions by loosening soil and pulling out leek indirectly by working soil.
