Brussels Sprouts are an excellent source of nutrition, and they are particularly easy to grow. Our Long Island Improved variety provides sprouts that are large and easy to harvest. A cool weather crop, Brussels Sprouts can stand a freeze, and often are the most delicious when they mature after the first fall frost. Good freezing variety. The sprouts form at the base of the leaves. To promote more sunlight, remove the leaves a few at a time. Be sure to leave the top foliage. At the end of summer, pinch out the growing tip of the plant to promote sprout growth and not plant height.
