Aspen Vet Livestock Calcium Gluconate serves as an aid in the treatment of calcium deficiencies in cattle, including milk fever (hypocalcemia). Milk fever typically strikes dairy cows near calving, when the sudden demand for calcium in milk production can outpace the body's ability to mobilize reserves from bone. A rapid drop in blood calcium leads to muscle weakness, inability to stand, and, without intervention, potentially fatal complications. Aspen Vet's formulation is intended for intravenous administration, delivering calcium directly into the bloodstream where absorption is immediate.
