More About Pressure Washer Hoses at Blain's Farm & Fleet
Pressure and power washer hoses are built to handle intense water pressure, making them far tougher than standard garden hoses. Their main purpose is to safely deliver high-pressure water from the machine to the spray gun so you can clean faster and more effectively. Unlike regular hoses, they use reinforced materials and secure fittings to resist kinks, bursts, and abrasion. Many pressure washer hoses are also designed to be flexible in cold weather and long enough to reach cars, patios, siding, and driveways with ease. A quality pressure washer hose will give you stronger performance, fewer interruptions, and a cleaner finish on every job.
Choose the right size
Many hoses use common sizes like 1/4" or 3/8" hose diameter and fittings such as M22 (14mm or 15mm). They also have quick-connect, or brand-specific couplers that are interchangeable. However, pressure hoses are not universally sized, so you will need to match both the diameter and the connector type for your washer and hose.
Also, garden hoses aren’t rated for high pressure and can burst. Use only a pressure washer–rated hoses designed for your machine’s PSI and GPM.
When to fix, and when to replace a leaky hose
You can replace certain parts related to the hose of your pressure washer, but not everything. Follow these steps to make the right choices.
- Turn off the unit and release pressure
- Tighten the connections and replace worn O-rings
- Check for cracks—if the leak is from a damaged section of hose, replacement is usually safer than patching.
