Instructions

  1. Regardless of the size of the crack, start by using a trowel or a putty knife to remove all loose or crumbling material from the crack. Use a steel-bristled brush to remove any contaminated concrete and to roughen any slick or sealed surfaces around the crack. For cracks up to half an inch wide and half an inch deep, Sakrete Concrete Crack Filler is ideal although any of the products mentioned will do the job.
  2. Using any of the ready-to-use crack fillers listed in the shopping list, simply pour or squeeze the product into the crack. Smooth the filler with a small trowel or putty knife. When it dries, the gray color will blend with the existing concrete color. Cracks larger than half an inch should be repaired with Sakrete Concrete Resurfacer or Fast Setting Cement Patcher. Refer to the package directions to determine which is best for your project.
  3. Saturate the sealed crack with water
  4. Then mix the Resurfacer or Fast Setting Cement Patcher according to the package directions.
  5. Force the product into the crack and scrape away the excess. You can repair large cracks and holes in the driveways or walkways with Sakrete Concrete Resurfacer or Sakrete Fast Setting Cement Patcher.
  6. After mixing according to product directions, simply use a trowel or a small putty knife to force the material into the opening and scrape away the excess and finish to the desired texture.
