Product safety is our top priority and we take great care in developing safe and effective tools. Fiskars Brands, Inc. (“Fiskars”) is investigating a potential issue with certain units of its 16’ Chain Drive Extendable Pole Saw & Pruner, model no. 9463, and 16’ Power Lever Extendable Pole Saw & Pruner, model nos. 9440 and 9441 (collectively, the “16’ Tree Pruners”), that were manufactured in Taiwan.
Fiskars 16’ Tree Pruners made in China or Vietnam are NOT affected. Other Fiskars tree trimmers, pruners, pole saws and products are NOT affected.
You are receiving this letter as our records indicate that you purchased for resale one or more of the 16’ Tree Pruners that were manufactured in Taiwan. Fiskars is currently investigating with the following issue with the 16’ Tree Pruners: in very rare circumstances, through misuse and/or over-extension of the telescoping poles, the poles can separate while in use, posing a risk of laceration, serious injury or death.
Fiskars has voluntarily notified the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada while it conducts its evaluation of this issue. Further, Fiskars has alerted consumers to this issue through the attached Safety Notice.
Please immediately discontinue the sale of any 16’ Tree Pruners manufactured in Taiwan.

Inspect your inventory at all locations to determine if you have any 16’ Tree Pruners that were made in Taiwan.
To determine if the 16’ Tree Pruner was made in Taiwan, check the location above the UPC code where it states the country of origin. See photos below for location of the UPC Code.
