Blain’s Announces Fifth Michigan Store Location!
Blain’s Farm & Fleet is excited to announce that they have reached an agreement for a fifth Michigan store location in the city of Walker-Standale. The 106,000 square foot store is slated to open in the Fall of 2020, and it will be built from the ground up. The store will be located in the City of Walker-Standale Shopping District, next to Meijer at the corner of Wilson Avenue and Lake Michigan Avenue in Kent County. The Walker-Standale store is the latest in Blain’s expansion into Michigan, which includes stores opening in Jackson and Portage in fall of 2018, Traverse City in spring of 2019, and Holland in fall of 2019. It will also bring the total number of Blain’s Farm & Fleet store locations in Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, and Michigan to 43.
The Walker-Standale store now allows Michigan residents residing along the western half of the state to pick a Blain’s Farm & Fleet store location nearest to them. “Everything is falling into place,” said Jane Blain Gilbertson, Owner and President of Blain’s Farm & Fleet. “We are thrilled that we continue finding like-minded partners who share our values as a family owned Midwestern retailer and appreciate the unique community-focused environment we offer. Employment Opportunities at Walker-Standale store
The new Walker-Standale Blain’s Farm & Fleet store will bring about 100 new jobs to the community. It will include a mix of both full-time and part-time positions ranging from store managers, cashiers, department product experts, small engine repair and auto service technicians and managers. We are planning on conducting hiring fairs in the summer and early fall of 2020 to fill these positions before the store opens.
