Celebrating 65 Years of Business

Blain’s Farm & Fleet has a rich history as a Modern General Store and was founded in Wisconsin. Since 1955, the company has expanded to open 43 stores throughout Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, and Michigan. These stores are all supported by our distribution center and headquarters located in Janesville, WI. Blain’s Farm and Fleet started as a partnership between two brothers, Bert and Claude, with
one simple philosophy:
Offer customers honest value by providing the best brands available at the lowest prices possible.

Bert and Claude Blain wove this idea through the company and this promise to customers has been upheld by Bert’s children, Jane Blain Gilbertson and Robert Blain.

Following Robert’s retirement in 2014, Jane became CEO and sole owner of Blain’s Farm & Fleet. Jane’s top priority remains taking care of our associates like family and our customers like neighbors.

43 stores that have opened in the last 65 years and none have ever closed! Blain’s Farm & Fleet makes a promise to communities when opening a store and it’s that, “We are your neighbors and we are here to support you.” Since we are a family business deeply involved in our communities, we know our neighbors and support the things that our neighbors care about most. From supporting our kids projects in 4-H to helping you find just the right food for your furry family member, we want to be there for you.

When asked about celebrating Blain’s 65 Anniversary of being in business, our CEO and Owner Jane said this:

“The beautiful thing about our company is that the basic idea Bert and Claude had 65 years ago, though simplified, still works today. We go out and find what people need, and get it to them at the best price we can, while staying true to our core values of providing sincere service to our neighbors. That foundation not only provides insights to the past; it also shows us how we will move forward. I always say, if we take care of our people they will take care of us.“
