Clear the Shelters Pet Adoption Event at Blain’s Farm & Fleet with Hill’s Science Diet
Blain’s Farm & Fleet is excited to participate in Clear the Shelters Day on Saturday, August 18th. Clear the Shelters Day is a national pet adoption initiative where hundreds of animal shelters all across the country partner with NBC and Telemundo stations to find loving homes for pets in need. Last year more than 53,000 pets were adopted. To help make this day successful, Blain’s Farm & Fleet has teamed up with Hill’s Science Diet and local animal shelters to hold pet adoption events at select Blain’s store locations.
What to Expect at each Blain’s Farm & Fleet Store Participating?
Each of the animal shelters in attendance will have information set up in our Pet Care Department. Customers will have the chance to sign up to adopt a pet, donate money to the shelter, or bring in pet food and pet supplies for the local shelters. If you don’t have dog food, cat food, or any other pet care items, there’s no need to worry. All of these are located right next to the sign up/donation area on the day of the event. If you still are debating on attending, keep in mind that some of the shelters are even bringing in some furry friends who need a new home. Regardless of whether or not you are looking to adopt a pet, customers have the opportunity to help make a difference. Each year about 6.5 million animals enter shelters nationwide (3.3 million are dogs and 3.2 million are cats). Of the dogs entering the shelters, approximately 48% are adopted and 20% are euthanized. Similarly, 50% of the cats that enter shelters are adopted and 27% are euthanized (ASPCA, 1). Without local shelters stray animals, surrendered animals, and animals rescued from cruelty would never find a home. Organizations like Clear the Shelters help raise money to keep these animals properly nourished which increases their likelihood of finding a new home. So please come to one of the Blain’s Farm & Fleet stores hosting Clear the Shelters Day Event on August 18th.
