More About Roots & Harvest Hot Water Bath Canners at Blain's Farm & Fleet
At-home canning is a popular do-it-yourself project that saves money and provides delicious, nutritious food that lasts all winter long. Water bath canning is a simple, dependable way to preserve high-acid foods like jams, jellies, fruits, applesauce, and pickles. It's also ideal for salsa, tomato sauce, and whole tomatoes, as long as the recipe is properly acidified with lemon juice or citric acid.
Do-It-Yourselfers like water bath canning because the equipment is affordable, the process is straightforward, and you don’t have to deal with the higher pressures of a pressure canner. It’s also great when you want to save garden harvests or take advantage of seasonal sales and keep that flavor on the shelf for months. Just stick to tested recipes and correct processing times, and you’ll get safe, sealed jars you can feel good about. Fill your pantry with your favorite canning recipes, and feel good knowing all the ingredients that went into each container.
