If you’re participating in a trunk-or-treating event this Halloween, you don’t want to show up in just a plain, boring car. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Instead, get in the Halloween spirit, and deck up your vehicle for the occasion! Having a themed car decoration will make trunk-or-treating even more fun and memorable for the whole family!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And remember, costumes aren’t just for kids! If you really want to go all out this year, wear a Halloween costume to match your car’s theme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are tons of themes out there to choose from, and some are harder to execute than others. That’s why Blain’s Farm & Fleet is here to show you 10 easy and creative trunk-or-treat ideas!<\/p>\n\n\n

1. Camping Theme<\/a><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n

This first idea from Jeannie Marie & Company is perfect for outdoor lovers! Plus, it uses plenty of things you probably already have at home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You’ll need a tent<\/a>, which you can either put inside your car trunk or on the ground next to your car, depending on how big it is. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then, build a fake bon fire pit with sticks and logs from around your yard and orange-colored paper. Add some folding lawn chairs<\/a>, and you’re done!<\/p>\n\n\n

2. Mummy Theme<\/a><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n

If you’re looking for a super simple and affordable trunk-or-treat decoration idea, this mummy one from The Cards We Drew is perfect. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All you really need is paper and paint for the eyes and something white to drape around the car for the body of the mummy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They recommend using thick toilet paper. But you could also use paper towels<\/a> or a plain bedsheet.<\/p>\n\n\n

3. Hayride Theme<\/a><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n

This hayride idea from Delish is especially good for those that own pickup trucks. Plus, it’s great if you want to stick with a fall theme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just line your truck bed or trunk with haybales<\/a>, pumpkins, mums, and whatever other fall d\u00e9cor you’d like.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To match your costume to this one, we recommend dressing as a scarecrow!<\/p>\n\n\n

4. Barbie Theme<\/a><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n

If your car doesn’t have a very big trunk, give this Barbie<\/a> theme from Good Housekeeping a try! You won’t need to do anything to your car. Instead, you’ll just be creating a life-size Barbie box!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Use wood or cardboard to construct the box. Then, spray paint<\/a> it with hot pink paint, and add whatever lettering and designs you’d like! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For an even more realistic-looking box, add plastic wrap<\/a> to the front.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And of course, you can’t do this theme without dressing as Barbie or Ken! <\/p>\n\n\n

5. Graveyard Theme<\/a><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n

This option from Tip Junkie is great, if you’d rather take a spooky approach. Use decorative headstones to line the inside of your trunk or the ground in front of your vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then, drape decorative cobwebs across the back of your car. And add any other other creepy Halloween decorations<\/a>, such as spiders and skulls, that you can find!<\/p>\n\n\n

6. Boating Theme<\/a><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n

If you have a boat and really want to wow the trunk-or-treaters, try out this idea from Parade. Rather than handing out candy from your car like everyone else, use your boat! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Go all out with the boating theme by including fishing poles<\/a>, nets<\/a>, and a cooler<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To make it extra fun, use the cooler as your candy bowl!<\/p>\n\n\n

7. Farm Theme<\/a><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n

If your kids love animals, consider this farm theme from HGTV. Construct the front of a barn out of cardboard or wood. Then, paint it red.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Add haybales, chicken wire<\/a>, and whatever else you’d like to give it that rustic, farm feel. You can use stuffed animals<\/a> for the farm animals. Or dress your dog up as a cow or other barnyard animal!<\/p>\n\n\n

8. Frog<\/strong> Theme<\/a><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n

If you need a simple and affordable idea, this frog theme from C.R.A.F.T. is a great choice! The main thing you’ll need is a green tarp<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just cover your car with the tarp. Then, use some cardboard for the eyes. Grab a red blanket or tarp for the tongue, and you’re good to go!<\/p>\n\n\n

9. Candy Land Theme<\/a><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n

Since you’ll already be handing out candy, why not go all-in on the sweets theme? This idea from DIY Inspired transforms your car into the Candy Land game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All you have to do is make a colorful, windy path that goes from the parking lot into the trunk of you car. If you want to get really crafty, you can make large lollipop decorations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
