Maybe you want to sell your car, and it would be an easier sell without the bumper stickers on it. Maybe you\u00a0recently bought a used car or truck, and are not crazy about the Punisher skulls on the rear bumper. Or maybe you just got the bumper stickers peeled off, but they left a residue. Well, if you want to know how to remove bumper stickers from your car, Blain’s Farm & Fleet has the answer.<\/p>\n

How To Remove Bumper Stickers<\/h2>\n

It’s usually best to remove stickers on a warm, sunny day. The heat will soften the glue and make the sticker easier to peel off.<\/p>\n

Note:<\/strong> Do not use a hard, sharp object like a razor blade or knife to peel up the edges of bumper stickers. You will risk damaging your car or truck’s paint. Instead, use a rubber or plastic spatula, your fingernail, or another soft tool.<\/p>\n

How to Remove Bumper Stickers with\u00a0Label and Sticker Remover<\/h4>\n

Spray the sticker generously with the sticker remover and let is soak for about ten\u00a0minutes. Then, gently pull up one of the top corners of the sticker. This will allow the sticker remover to seep down into the adhesive more easily. Always peel towards the center of the sticker. Keep spraying the sticker remover on the underside of the part that you’ve pulled up as you keep peeling. This will help to soften and break down the glue on the sticker and make peeling it much easier.<\/p>\n

How to Remove Bumper Stickers with Lubricant Sprays<\/a> or Penetrating Oils<\/a><\/h4>\n

Carefully peel up\u00a0one of the top\u00a0corners of the sticker and spray the underside to break up the adhesive. Continue slowly peeling and spraying. Stop for a few\u00a0minutes every inch or so to let the spray soak into the adhesive and break it down better.<\/p>\n

How to Remove Bumper Stickers with Natural Products<\/h4>\n

The most popular way to do this is with a mixture of water, rubbing alcohol, and eucalyptus oil. Mix three parts water<\/a>, one part eucalyptus oil, and two teaspoons of rubbing alcohol<\/a> in a spray bottle<\/a>.\u00a0You may substitute dish soap for eucalyptus oil. Spray the sticker generously and let it soak for about ten minutes. Carefully peel up one of the top corners of the sticker and spray the underside as you keep peeling it towards the center of the sticker. Vinegar<\/a> also works in\u00a0place\u00a0of the mixture above.<\/p>\n

How to Remove Bumper Stickers with Heat<\/h4>\n

Use a hair dryer<\/a> or heat gun<\/a>\u00a0to heat up the sticker. This will soften the adhesive glue on the back of the sticker and make it easy to pull off. For a hair dryer, hold the dryer about\u00a0six inches away from the sticker for about 30 seconds. Don’t overheat the surface or your paint could chip when you peel the sticker off. Peel from one of the top corners towards the center. A heat gun runs hotter than a blow dryer, so you’ll want to hold it at least ten inches away from the sticker on its lowest setting.<\/p>\n

How to Remove Leftover Glue Residue<\/b><\/p>\n

You can use any of the solvents you used to remove the sticker to rub off the leftover residue. This will still leave a dull spot on your paint in the shape of the sticker. To take care of this, apply some car wax<\/a> and polish the spot.<\/p>\n
