Custom Exhaust Tips<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n

Flex Pipe<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n

Flex pipe comes in handy when you’re running a custom exhaust or just looking to make an exhaust repair on a budget. Flex pipes bend and allow you to snake around the contours of your vehicle’s under body. This is great for vintage cars where original equipment (OE) parts are hard to find.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also, flex pipe is inexpensive compared to OE replacement parts. It works well as a short-term fix if you’re on a budget<\/a>. However, flex pipe does wear out much more quickly than solid pipe.<\/p>\n\n\n

Straight Pipe<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n

It’s important to remember that running a straight pipe on your street vehicle might violate your states emissions laws and noise ordinances, so be sure to study them before installing straight pipe on your car or truck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Using straight pipe without a muffler or catalytic converter can also reduce the power of your engine. This is because a pure straight pipe exhaust has little or no back pressure to let the right amount of exhaust fumes back to the engine. You may want to use an aftermarket muffler to keep the right back pressure in your system.<\/p>\n\n\n

Aftermarket Mufflers<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n

Many aftermarket custom exhaust mufflers are designed to make your car or truck louder. There are two common types of aftermarket mufflers.<\/p>\n\n\n

Turbo Mufflers<\/a><\/h4>\n\n\n

A turbo muffler still deadens the sound of your engine well, because it forces your exhaust through a series of tubes in an s-shape. However, since turbo mufflers are much smaller than OE ones, they still produce a throaty sound. These are ideal if you want a performance sound, but are conscious of noise regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n

Glasspack Mufflers<\/a><\/h4>\n\n\n

Glasspack mufflers use a straight-through, single-tube design to allow the most exhaust possible to flow through them. The single tube rests inside of a metal shell that’s packed with sound-deadening material (usually fiberglass). Glasspacks are the loudest muffler available, and work well to maintain back pressure on a straight pipe exhaust system. These are ideal for racing applications; you might find problems with noise ordinances if you use one on a street vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n

Exhaust Clamps<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n

Exhaust Adapters<\/a>, Extensions, and Connectors<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n
