If you’re a beginner welder, or even a seasoned welder looking for something new to try, a DIY horseshoe decoration may just pique your interest. These projects are relatively inexpensive, simple, and once completed make great additions to your home decor. We have four different projects for you to try. You can decide whether you want to use old or new horseshoes, but keep in mind old ones will require more preparation time. You’ll have to clean them with a steel brush or grinder to remove any dirt or rust that accumulated. Buying new horseshoes eliminates the cleaning time and allows you to pick out the size you prefer. When working with welding equipment<\/a> and power tools<\/a>, it’s important to make safety your top priority. Make sure you wear the proper welding apparel<\/a> and safety accessories such as a welding jacket<\/a>, welding gloves<\/a>, a welding helmet<\/a>, safety glasses,<\/a> and ear protection<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n

Project #1: Horseshoe Wine & Glass Rack<\/h3>\n\n\n

For the wine lovers out there, this project allows you to display a bottle of wine and wine glasses on your bar or counter. All you need is seven horse shoes, a welder, a steel brush, a chisel, a hammer, and an anti-rust primer, if desired. However, you must use horseshoes no smaller than a size 0 so that you can fit the wine bottles in the rack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Project #2: Moose Head-Shaped Coat Rack<\/h3>\n\n\n

This project is perfect for adding functional decor to a cabin or a child’s bedroom. It is a little more involved than the previous project, but when the end result is an adorable moose-shaped coat rack, it’ll be worth it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You’ll need nine horseshoes for this project, and any size horseshoe can be used; this is art, so you can personalize it any way you like. Project #3: Horseshoe Pumpkin<\/h3>\n\n\n

Fall and Halloween are always fun times to decorate your home and yard, especially when you get surrounded by endless amounts of fall-themed decor at any given store. However, if you’re looking for something a bit more unique, try this horseshoe pumpkin project. It’s simple, but adorable, and durable enough to handle the outdoors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like the previous project, you can use any size horseshoe you want, depending how big you want your pumpkin, but you’ll need seven of them. You can even take your creativity one step further by painting your project once it’s finished to give your pumpkin some color. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Project #4: Horseshoe Heart with Wings<\/h3>\n\n\n

If you’re looking for a piece of art to hang on your wall, try making a heart with wings out of horseshoes. You’ll need about eight horseshoes to complete this project, but there are no restrictions on the horseshoe size you use. Plus, you have the freedom to design the heart and wings however you’d like. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You may paint your final project to add some color, or simply spray it with an anti-rust clear coat primer to enhance its natural color. The route you go with this project is entirely up to you. Just watch the tutorial video<\/a> and get started. <\/p>\n\n\n
