DIY Mailbox Makeover<\/span><\/h3>\n

1. Prep<\/strong> – Remove your mailbox from its post. Remove any rust or debris with sandpaper<\/a> and\/or a wire brush. This will help the new coat of paint adhere to the surface. Clean the surface with soap and water once it’s sanded.<\/p>\n

2. Prime<\/strong> – Apply one coat of primer to the mailbox. With a metal mailbox, you’ll want to use an anti-rust primer and paint<\/a>, will help keep the mailbox from rusting. Follow the manufacturer’s recommendations on preparation, application, drying times, and clean up.<\/p>\n

3. Paint<\/strong> – Apply one coat of spray paint in the color of your choice. A bright pop of color can really make it stand out. Make sure all the corners, edges, and heavily pitted areas are adequately covered. Apply a second coat, if necessary, within 2 hours or after 48 hours.<\/p>\n
