A family camping trip is a great time to make memories and explore the great outdoors. Unfortunately, sometimes the great outdoors includes unbearable heat. Without the comforts of home&#8211;and air conditioning&#8211;you&#8217;ll need some creative ways to stay cool when you&#8217;re around the campsite. Blain&#8217;s Farm &amp; Fleet has five different ways to stay cool on your next family camping trip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1. Set up camp in the shade<\/strong> &#8211; Find a shady spot to <a href=\"\/blog\/choosing-a-campsite\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">set up your campsite<\/a>. If the campsite has limited shade, that&#8217;s where you&#8217;ll want to put your <a href=\"\/tents-shelters\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tent<\/a>. Your tent will heat up quickly in the hot sun. It&#8217;s best to set up your tent in the early morning or late in the evening, when it&#8217;s cooler outside. If you don&#8217;t have any shade for your campsite, use <a href=\"\/tarps\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tarps<\/a> to create a shaded shelter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2. Stay hydrated<\/strong> &#8211; As with any outdoor activity, it&#8217;s important to stay hydrated. Make sure you have <a href=\"\/coolers\/?soft_sided_hard_sided=Hard Sided\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">coolers<\/a> filled with <a href=\"\/bottled-water\/?flavor=Plain\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">bottles of water<\/a>, or a reliable water source if you&#8217;re at a campground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3. Bring a tent fan<\/strong> &#8211; Nothing&#8217;s worse than waking up in a hot, stuffy tent. Keep the air moving in your tent with a tent fan. A tent fan run on batteries, so you can take it with you on virtually any camping trip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>4. Plan activities during the cooler part of the day<\/strong> &#8211; You&#8217;ll want to do any water activities&#8211;such as tubing and swimming&#8211;when it&#8217;s warmer outside. However, non-water activities should be done in the early morning and evening. These cooler parts of the day are perfect for hiking, biking and even kayaking. Just always remember to wear <a href=\"\/sunscreen\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">sunscreen<\/a> and bring along plenty of water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>5. Wear light-colored clothing<\/strong> &#8211; Light-colored, cotton clothing will help you stay cool on those hot days. Protect your face with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.farmandfleet.com\/s\/?keyword=sun+hat\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sun hat<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.farmandfleet.com\/s\/?keyword=sunglasses\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sunglasses<\/a>.
