I have two of these feeders now and just ordered two more. The ones I have have lasted more than 3 years with a lot of squirrel and racoon activity. Very durable, hold large quanity of seeds and easy to refill.

I have three smaller stokes feeders, out side our ground floor windows, birds love'm and use them including jays cardinals nut hatches chickadees etc.
I built a 20 foot pole to support this large stokes feeder for use outside our second story picture window, I was thinking I would not have to refill it as often, There is cover 10' away in the form of a 60' white pine
the cardinals have yet to use it.
the feeder has been up since middle of November, all 4 feeders are filled with only black sunflower seeds, any suggestions is the feeder too high
A shopper on Dec 11, 2013
Best Answer: Cardinals are actually ground feeders so that may be too high for them. They will feed from a platform-type feeder if there is room for them to perch but I've never tried one that high.
