I had owned a Eskimo ice auger, that was stolen from me last season. I liked the unit and had good luck with it for 12 years. I also like the price.

How reliable are these augers? Do they start well in the cold? Or is it one of those 2 or 3 pull starts?
Patrick T on Mar 10, 2015
Best Answer: Only had a few opportunities to use mine since purchasing it in Dec. The initial start-up for an outing required a couple pulls with proper priming (following instructions) after that a single pull got it going. Temps on those outings was below zero with the wind. As of yet very pleased with the auger despite accidental mishandling on my part loading in the truck, broke the on off switch terminal. Will order a replacement so I can hit the ice again next season. Hope this helps
